MDC of Texas is a political advocacy group for Muslim Americans that seeks, through its constituent organizations, to encourage and facilitate involvement of its constituents in the political process and in the working of the national and state Democratic Parties.
Promote the Democratic Party's message of economic justice, social equity and equal opportunity for all · Encourage our communities to vote and participate in the campaigns of the Democratic candidates and at all levels of the Democratic Party · Educate Muslim voters on similarities and differences between the Democratic and Republican parties on issues of importance to our communities · Cooperate with other Democratic groups to maximize the voter support and facilitate enactment of legislation that benefits all Americans
Muslim Democrats are committed to the core values of the Democratic Party, viz. Equal justice and equal protection under the law; vigilant defense of the constitutional rights of all Americans, building a strong economy, stewardship of the environment, assuring America’s national security and global peace through wise domestic and foreign policies, provision of affordable health care for all Americans and repairing our educational system.
